Join Silverela Knots for this all new mini weaving class for beginners new to fiber! You will learn a few simple techniques to make your very own mini wall hanging on a lap loom. These techniques include tabby, knotting, soumak, twining, and rya loops. The neutral color option includes merino wool roving, natural cotton string, corespun yarn, tape yarn, wool yarn and felt strips. The same techniques will be taught in this option but you're free to use your own creative spin on how you want to arrange your weaving.
You will get to warp your loom, secure the weaving, remove it from the loom, and attach it to a dowel. It will make a 7”x15” wall hanging. You have the option to purchase the loom to continue making new projects at home!
What’s included:
- mini loom to use in the class (optional +$15 to take loom home)
- Eight colors of different textures of yarn/fiber (wool yarn, merino roving, felted yarn, cotton rope, core spun yarn, sari silk, and cotton frizz)
- 7” dowel
We will limit our workshops to 16 people or less, so that we can keep a social distance during our classes. Our studio is thoroughly cleaned and a sanitizing station will be available. Guests have the option to decide what they feel most comfortable with in regards to wearing masks.
